My Views On the book:
As a reviewer, it's my duty to read a book, savour it and pen down my thoughts about it on my blog. But what do you do when your mind goes numb and words fail you?
Author Rohit Gore's fourth novel ''The guardian Angels'' is one such epitome which leaves you with a sensation that clings on to you for days together. Before saying anything i would like to thank the author, Mr. Rohit Gore for treating me with such a mind-boggling, thought provoking and intriguing novel! :-)
The book, revolves around the love story of Radha Deodhar and Adi Mehta, our protagonists. Adi is the son of a billionaire while Radha who comes from a middle class family, is the daughter of a socialist. The bond they share is something beyond love. Every time either of them is in danger, they protect each other-they are 'the Guardian Angels'!
In-spite of being each other's guardian angels, there worlds are completely different, and this is where the author has struck chords! The story is different, and when i say different, i mean it!Apart from Radha and Adi, there are many other interesting characters with their own shades of grey.
The best thing i loved about the book was the concept! It's truly remarkable. There's NO way you are going to skip even a single word.No bore 'o' bore pages and fruitless descriptions. Just when you have started reading the book, you realize that you are clinging to it, and actually skipping meals just to read the book in one go.
There's this one chapter of the book where Adi and Radha Communicate through e-mails. I must say that this is the part which i enjoyed the most. Three cheers for the author here! The conversations are both hilarious and humorous-just the way i like them!
Some moments made me smile while some filled my heart and touched my soul making me cry. The story is intriguing, gripping and heart wrenching all at the same time. It's the perfect cocktail of Love, trust and hope.Everything, right from the story to conceptualization, characterization and streaming is wonderful!I have read so many romantic novels, but unlike others, this one has made a permanent place in my heart.
While the market is overflowing with love stories, this novel comes as a breath of fresh air!
Coming to the 'not-so-good' part of the book- Well! There's nothing as such in this book! It's a total entertainer, except for the fact that the story is very heart-wrenching. I am more of a bubbly(duniya ki sari khushi mere paas hai) type of Gal. So, I was shocked to see tears trickle down my eyes so often... :(
In my opinion 'The Guardian Angels' is a lovely novel with a great story, wonderful concept and very convincing characters. 328 pages of total bliss priced at just 125 INR, the book is a steal. If you haven't read it yet, then GO GRAB IT!....n yes, I am really looking forward to reading other novels by Mr.Rohit Gore. Now, I am his fan 'O' fan! :-)
One Word: Brilliant!
My Rating: 4.5/5
