About the book [From its Cover]
The title is an attitude - our tendency to feel defeated by the scale and nature of certain problems. Rather than meet them head on, we circumvent them with a sigh and a consoling “never mind, yaar”.

When long time friends Binaifer Desai and Louella D’Costa meet Shalini Dayal at Gyan Shakti College, a true friendship that transcends cultural and religious backgrounds is born. Louella is a Christian, Binaifer, a Parsi and Shalini, a Hindu.

The novel’s main plotline surrounds Shalini who has fallen for an impetuous student activist, Bhagu. Where does his desire to help the less fortunate lead him? The challenges are many - Shalini’s tradition bound family, the couple’s youth and inexperience and the travails of life in Mumbai, a city the girls love but know, is fraught with communal tension.

A Few Lines About The Author:

My Views On the book:

Remember those carefree days when you used to chat with your besties meanwhile, sipping coffee and enjoying hot samosas at the college canteen? The never ending gossip and highly amusing plans for the day... The last minute mug-ups and the sweet discussions of crushes and first loves.... This book reminds you of just that!

At first, i was intrigued by the beautiful title of the book, 'Never mind yaar'. The name itself was nostalgic-oh! how many times had i said this to my friends! So i really couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and when i finally received my copy, I devoured it in a day!

The novel is based in one the most exciting cities of India,Mumbai. The story revolves around four friends, Shalini, Binaifer, Louella, and Bhagu, the young students at Gyan Shakti College.
As stated above, the main plotline of the book is about the sweet Romance between Shali and Bhagu.

Binaifer and Louella sense the connection between Bhagu and Shali and take it upon themselves to unite the lovers.

The three best Friends

Shalini is perturbed and doesn't want to marry the man Mem, her Grandma has chosen for her, as deep down she knows that she is in love with Bhagu, but she is scared to accept that too. That is when Benifer and Louella confront her and strike the chords.
The story takes a turn, when Bhagu joins the communist party. Things go haywire and they realize that their relationship is already coming to an end.

The small additions in the form of Mem's story of Bhabuti Nayee(which was totally crazy) and other such recollections makes the book a very interesting read. The author, KeYem has also made a lovely video on the story. You can watch it HERE :)

There were some real awesome masala twists which left me clinging to the book and savouring it without taking a break. The climax was beautifully woven. Being a fairytale-smitten girl, i have always loved happy endings, and to the joy of my little joyous heart- it was a smashing Bollywoodish ending :D Three cheers for the author here!

I think the narration part could have been a bit better and the insight into the characters other than Shali, Bhagu and Mem could have been a bit better too.

Apart from that my only complain would be the price of the book! I think it's clearly overpriced! Even the best of my Sidney Sheldon Novel is not priced at 350/- INR! But it all comes back to the point that, you will like the book and nothing else matters. :)

All in all, 'Never mind yaar' is a beautiful read which in the course of entertaining you, also enlightens you with the reality of world. The book is gripping and at times surprising. The characters are lovely, specially Bhagu's and Mem's characters are very intriguing and insightful. The book keeps you engrossed until the last page and leaves you craving for more!

If you are okay with the price part, i think it'll make a WONDERFUL read!Go grrab this one and i am sure it won't disappoint you! :)

One Word: Amazing!
