7 Peppy Ways To Style The Kurti

19:21

Kurti is comfort clothing which if styled right can look fashionable too. I am totally a kurti girl and you will find kurtas in every style, fabric and colour in my wardrobe. Ethnic dressing is my thing but I rarely wear lehengas, sarees or even salwar suits which are reserved mainly for occasions when I have to attend marriages or celebrate festivals.

Wearing kurtis everyday can get boring especially if your are pairing them with jeans or leggings and not trying anything different. I try my best to keep things peppy even in a kurti by experimenting with different styles and cuts. My online shopping addiction means I have discovered several different kurtas designs like anarkalis, high low hem lines, semi sheers, viscose, angrakhas, quirky printed kurtas and more, but now even these have been over done by me. Recently I decided to experiment with styling my kurtis and break the boring style routine I was in.

Here are some peppy ways you can style your kurtis in if you are in a situation similar to mine:

Jackets with a kurti :
Adding a jacket to your simple kurti can dramatically change things . Go in for studded sleeveless jackets or mirrors work kotis to get a more dressed up look. I have even paired shrugs and floral full sleeved jackets with my sleeveless kurtas and it has worked amazingly for me.

Kurti with leggings or jeans :
This is how majority of women style their kurtis in because they are a perfect combination. A kurta and jeans pairing is comfortable and breezy to carry off but it can get boring after a couple of outings so it is important to add some statement elements to make your look peppy and fun. Style your normal kurta with an ear cuff, stacked bracelets, funky nail art or huge rings and skip the dupatta to stand out amidst the kurti wearing crowd.  If accessories aren't your thing then experiment with different kurtas designs. Bold prints, funky cuts, sheer layers will all pep up your jeans look.

Punjabi patialas:
Patiala salwars paired with solid kurtas are a very comfortable outfit option for summers. I don't personally love patiala salwars as they have too much volume for my liking but it is nice to dress up in them once in a while. I have two floral printed patiala and dupatta sets from melange which I mix and match with my plain kurtas.

Palazzo pants:
My current obsession, the palazzo pants are a fabulous way to dress trendy and comfortable. Pair your short or long kurtas which have side slits with wide legged palazzos, heels and ear danglers for a peppy high on glam look.

Dhoti pants:
Many bollywood celebrities have been spotted pairing kurtas with dhoti pants. I love how funky this pairing looks totally upping the kurti style game but I haven't got a chance to try this yet . I am looking for good affordable dhoti pants, any recommendations?

Wear like a dress:
Yes, you can try this too, not with your kurtas which have slits but your flared anarkali kurtis. Choose a sleeveless kurti which has a defined waist and skip the dupatta and the bottom,  viola kurti transformed into a dress for your lazy Sunday brunch .

Long skirts :
This is a new way I discovered of styling kurtis just recently from blogger Pallavi. Pair your solid short kurti with a long flowy printed skirt for a chic look. You can even pair your long kurtas with skirts but make sure your kurtas and skirt are in contrasting colours to make a peppy impact.
Which peppy way are you looking to style your kurta this season ?
